Confidentiality
Confidentiality is a key component to the counseling relationship and is high priority. There are times when breaking confidentiality is essential. If a student reveals they wish to do harm to themselves or others, someone is harming them, or someone else's safety is threatened, confidentiality will be broken. While the counselor does maintain a confidential relationship, students are encouraged to share with their parents and/or teachers about their concerns and the goals they are working toward.
